Cost Centers

Cost centers are attribution labels for work that doesn’t belong to a production — administration, maintenance, training. Shifts and timesheet entries are tagged with a cost center, so reports attribute the hours even without a production.

Admin → Cost centers is the register: create, edit, and activate/deactivate, individually or in bulk.

Cost centers are projects

Under the hood, a cost center today is a project on the cost-center template, and the two surfaces stay in sync. With the Projects module on, you can just as well manage them in the projects list — where they also get a budget and burn view. This register works regardless, including with the Projects module off.

The cost center is set per entry in the approval queue, and per shift in time planning.
