The averaging planner
Working-time averaging lets a person work unevenly week by week, as long as the average stays within the agreement. The averaging planner is the tool for laying that plan: pick a direct report with an assigned averaging period, and you get the whole period as a grid — one row per week, with the person’s shifts and event calls in the cells.
The header shows the key numbers: weekly target, weekly cap, and running average, plus the total against target.
Laying the budget
Link to this headingIn the budget section you distribute planned hours per week — type directly, or use Spread evenly as a starting point and adjust. Edits are local until you save. Weeks that exceed the cap are flagged, and must come down before you can save.
Distributions save as drafts — Proposal, Working, or Final — and can be recalled and compared against each other with a delta column. Snapshots capture today’s actual weekly distribution as a reference. Drafts don’t write to shifts; they’re the plan, not the plan in production.
The averaging period itself — target, cap, and counted hours per week — is assigned from the person’s Work tab, using templates from Admin → Averaging Period Templates. Export CSV takes the whole distribution with you.
