House

Not everything that belongs on the plan belongs to a show. House meetings, maintenance, training, get-ins and changeovers between runs — the work is real, but there is no production to book it against.

House is the answer. It is one production per organisation that collects all of this, so the events land somewhere instead of being forced under a staging they have nothing to do with.

Picking House

In the production picker, House — not tied to a show sits at the top, above the ordinary productions. You will find it everywhere you attach something to a production: creating or editing an event in the planner, in drafts, and when you start a GrandPlanner scenario.

It is pinned there deliberately. It is not a production title to hunt for in the list, but an answer to the question “which show?” — namely, none.

How it behaves

House is a real production in the database, not a special case in the planner. Its events group, colour and count like any other production’s, and they show up in the plan, in timesheets and in reports the usual way.

In the production list the row is marked House, so you can see at a glance that it is not a staging.

It is created only when someone needs it

Your organisation has no house production until the first time someone picks House. It is created automatically at that point, and everyone afterwards uses the same one. There is only ever one.

Giving it another name

The title is yours. If your house calls it something else internally — “Operations”, “Stage 2”, the name of the building — you can rename the production like any other, and the name carries everywhere its events appear.

Its address stays fixed even when the title changes, so links and imports still point at the same place afterwards.
