Event Types

Admin → Event Types is the vocabulary the planner speaks: rehearsal, performance, run-through, meeting. Each type has:

  • Colour — used on event dots and chips where the production doesn’t colour them.
  • Abbreviation — 2–4 letters, shown in the month and year views’ compact cells.
  • Default called departments — departments suggested for calling when the type is used, for organisations with the GrandPlanner module.
  • Sort order — the order in dropdowns.

Usage shows per type — event and template counts. A type in use can be deactivated, hiding it from new dropdowns, but never deleted; existing events keep their type.

Keep the vocabulary small: a dozen types goes a long way, and the plan gets more readable, not less.
