Makeup times

The Makeup tab on the production page is the makeup department’s list of who sits in the chair when. You set a time once, and it follows the performances: runorder knows when the production plays, so you keep no separate list of weeks or days.

Anyone who can see the production can read the tab. Changing it takes the Manage makeup times permission, granted through roles — a makeup artist does not need to be a production manager.

Adding a standing time

Add slot opens the form. Under Who you pick a character or a person. Pick the character when the role is double-cast: runorder then finds whoever plays tonight, from tonight’s cast or the primary cast, and shows the name. Someone without a character — ensemble, a cover — you pick directly.

Time is set one of two ways. Before the show takes a number of Minutes before the start, so the time moves with the performance. Fixed time is the same clock time every playing day. Under Which show you choose whether the time applies to Every show, only the Matinee or only the Evening on days with two performances; on a single-show day they are the same show.

From and To bound the period the time applies to. Both can stay empty. A Note follows the row wherever it shows.

Standing times sit under Standing times. Edit a row in place, or delete it — you are asked to confirm.

An override for one show

Under Performances sits every upcoming performance with its resolved times, date, start and room. Pick the period with 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks or 12 weeks, and page with Previous period and Next period.

Add a time for this show creates an override: a time that applies to that night only. The override replaces the standing time for the same person on that performance, and is marked This show only. Remove takes it away, and the standing time applies again. A person can hold only one override per show; if it exists, you edit that one.

A character with nobody cast that night stays in the list as Nobody cast, so you see that the time exists but not yet who it is for.

Where the times show

  • Dashboard — the Makeup times widget shows this week’s times, and Next event says “Makeup 17:30” to the person it concerns. See Dashboard.
  • Kiosk — the makeup_board view mode shows today’s times beside today’s schedule, as a makeup board. See Kiosk.
  • The call sheet — every called person with a makeup time gets it on their line, on screen and in the PDF. See Production schedule and call sheets.

If the production is archived, the tab is locked like the rest of the page.
